Regina smile cookie sales gives $124K to UnderstandUs

More than $124,000 was raised from smile cookie sales in Regina this year, with all the funds going to the local charity UnderstandUs.

This organization focuses on starting the conversation around mental health with youth around Saskatchewan.

During the week smile cookies were on sale, Tim Hortons stores in the queen city sold 124,518 cookies.

In a Facebook post, UnderstandUs said “For one week we had the whole city promoting kindness and sharing a smile with those around them. Years from now we will look back at this moment and we will celebrate how a large company and a warm community took the time to support a grass roots organization that went on to make a change in the world of mental health. This support makes the future possible.”

This year’s funds will go towards expanding the organization’s university program.

Last year the Tim Hortons’ campaign raised over $100,000 for UnderstandUs.
