Police charge two Regina men after seizing firearms and ammo

Two Regina men have been charged by police following search warrants on Saturday that resulted in the seizure of guns, ammunition and stolen property.

The first search warrant was conducted after the Regina Police Service’s canine unit located a wanted man on the 800 block of Queen Street.

33-year-old Richard Krane of Regina fled from police into a residence, but officers eventually found and safely arrested him after Krane surrendered.

A search warrant of the home resulted in the following charges:

  • Careless Storage of a Firearm;
  • Possession Of A Weapon For A Dangerous Purpose;
  • Unauthorized Possession Of Firearm;
  • Possession Of A Weapon Obtained By Commission of Offence;
  • 2x Possession of Weapon Contrary To Prohibition Order;
  • Failure To Comply With Undertaking; and
  • Breach of Probation.

The investigation resulted in a second search warrant at a separate residence on the 1400 block of Princess Street involving firearm-related offences.

Multiple police units attended the home and located the wanted individual – 34-year-old Jason Morin of Regina.

The investigation led to the following charges against Morin:

  • 2x Careless Storage of a Firearm;
  • 2x Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose;
  • 2x Possession of Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition;
  • 2x Possession Of A Weapon Obtained By Commission of Offence;
  • 4x Possession Contrary to Prohibited Firearms Orders; and
  • Possession of Stolen Property over $5000.

Both individuals are expected to appear in provincial court Monday morning.
