(Jamie) A Very Productive Sunday

Yesterday morning my wife and I decided to go outside and prepare the backyard for the winter ahead.

We raked up all of the leaves and then I pulled out the lawnmower for what was probably the last mow of the year. Then my wife went into the flowerbed and yanked all of the now dead flowers and tossed them into a garbage bag. It seems like it was only yesterday that I was on my hands and knees planting those darn things. So long beautiful flowers. RIP.

Once all that was done it was time to pack up all of our lawn ornaments and the solar lights and put them away in the shed until next spring.

Then in the afternoon it was off to Leibel Field to watch the Regina Thunder take on the Edmonton Wildcats. Unfortunately, the Wildcats ended the Thunder’s season for the second straight year with a 20-17 win. It was a beautiful afternoon for football.

We thought we’d top off a very busy Sunday with a nice barbeque. After preparing the meat I went out on the deck and tossed some sweet potatoes on the grill. Those would take about 45 minutes to cook, so I finally had a chance to relax. Tewnty minutes later I went out to see how the potatoes were coming and I noticed the thermometer on the grill read zero. Uh oh. That could only mean one thing.

So, it was off to the hardware store for a new tank of propane.

We ended up eating a little later than we had planned, but it turned out to be a wonderful supper to wrap up a very productive Sunday!
