Two women in their early thirties are facing numerous charges after a truck was stolen from Regina’s Douglas Park Hill area Wednesday night.
Police were called around 10:15 p.m. shortly after they observed a Chevy Silverado driving through a residential area at a high rate of speed.
A spike belt was deployed on 8th Avenue, the vehicle drove over the belt then continued on before sideswiping an unmarked police cruiser, coming to a stop a short time later.
The two women then tried to flee on foot but were quickly arrested.
Thirty-year-old Charity Alicia Lynn Brass faces a total of nine charges including theft of a motor vehicle and failing to stop after an accident.
Thirty-two-year-old Vanessa Belanger was charged with theft of a motor vehicle and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
Both women were in court on Thursday.
