Rams end season with convincing win over Manitoba

All they were playing for was pride.

After seeing their playoff hopes extinguished last weekend, the University of Regina Rams were hoping to end the Canada West football season on a two-game win streak and that is what they did.

Josh Donnelly threw for four touchdowns–two to Riley Boersma as the Rams crushed Manitoba 47-14 to end the season with a 3-5 record.  Had the Bisons not upset Calgary last weekend, Regina would have advanced to the playoffs with the victory.

Kyle Moortgat, playing in his last game with the team as he has exhausted his eligibility, had a huge game for the winners catching 11 passes for 185 yards which are both career highs.

Moortgat was one of several Rams playing in their last game. Some others included receiver Ryan Schienbein, offensive lineman Theren Churchill, running back Sam Varao and defensive lineman Eric Wicijowski.
