While not mandated by law winter tires do make your vehicle much safer, and Progressive Automotive has a large selection available

With the violent winters in Saskatchewan, many feel winter tires are a must. However there are still some that settle with all season or all weather tires for the snowy months.

While not mandated by law winter tires do make our roads safer, they can drastically improve traction and improve braking by as much as 40 percent.

Right now is an ideal time to book an appointment with Progressive Automotive in Regina, located at 1773 McDonald Street.

The shop’s owner Chris Hnatiuk says they’ll get you set up as soon as possible.

“Well you can call us at Progressive Automotive (306) 359-6030 and leave information including what kind of vehicle it is, what kind of driving you do, your tire size and we’ll get a price together for you. ” “Cooper has a wide selection of tires that work phenomenally in these conditions,” Hnatiuk said.

Hnatiuk added if you’re already an owner of winter tires it’s always best to beat the first snowfall rush and aim to put them on in mid to late September.

He said the recent weather conditions are exactly what winter tires are meant for.

“Right now is ideal conditions for winter tires,” he said. “The ground is still warm, and it melts the snow and ice and with the breezes we’ve been having it then polishes up the ice and snow overnight and makes the roads treacherous.”

Progressive Automotive is open Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
