This weekend on Made in Saskatchewan: Arron Rigden (AUDIO)

Saskatoon singer Arron Rigden debuts a new song on Sunday’s edition of Made in Saskatchewan, titled “Crash and Burn”. Rigden is originally from Abbotsford, BC but thanks to work he found his way to Saskatchewan a few years ago.

“I was in a rock band when I was in BC and, I guess, living in the prairies you just go country,” chuckled Rigden.

Over the years Rigden as fully immersed himself into his craft as a singer, songwriter, and past president of the Saskatchewan Country Music Association (SCMA). He was also nominated for Male Artist of the Year at the 2019 SCMA’s in April, Album or EP of the year, and Emerging Artist of the Year. His most recent self titled EP yielded a few singles including “Gone,” “Top of the World,” and his most recent “Crash and Burn,” which he says is more of a hypothetical song.

“In my mind it’s kind of a shy guy just sitting at the bar, having a drink, and this girl is getting hit on and harassed by all these guys,” explained Rigden. “The whole chorus is really what is going on in his head, if I go over  there and all these great, wonderful things happen and then ends up with if I could do all that or I could just crash and burn and she shuts me down.”

He says he always tries to walk that road between a traditional country sound and a pop sound without going to far into the new sound. You can hear his new song this Sunday morning (Nov 3rd) between 7 and 7:30 on Made in Saskatchewan.
