Regina Police say scammers are trying to get your personal/financial information again

Regina Police are once again reminding you about not giving out personal or financial information out over the phone.

Police say over the last 24 hours, the Communications Centre has received many calls from people saying they have been contacted by someone claiming to work for the Canada Revenue Agency or Service Canada.  The caller says the recipient is under investigation and he or she must co-operate by giving up personal information including their Social Insurance Number.

Police say under no circumstances should you give out your SIN,personal or financial information over the phone and that you should not be intimidated if you get a call

If you get such a call, you can end it.  If you have given your SIN or any information out to the wrong people, you are asked to come down to Regina Police headquarters to fill out a report.
