Eagle Heart Centre’s Legacy Campaign gets underway

Spending time with family is the goal and focus of this year’s Legacy Campaign.

For the third year in a row, the Eagle Heart Centre is running a project to bring families life experiences during the holidays, rather than just gifts.

Executive Director Delora Parisian said they are asking people to donate things like movie passes, restaurant gift certificates and activity passes to give to families who may not be able to afford it or are dealing with issues.

Parisian thinks it’s a neat way to donate that really touches the family.

“It’s very important to try and keep that family together because no matter how hurt the family can be or how painful some of the things they are going through, it’s always a good thing that they can spend at least some time enjoying something together,” she explained.

“There are so many other places that are giving toys, which is a really good thing, but we wanted to promote life experiences, the bonding of the family and getting together with them.”

Donations are accepted online or people can bring the experiences to the centre by December 20. For more information, visit the Eagle Heart Centre or United Way Regina.
