Two charged with multiple property offences: RPS

Two adults are facing a combined 23 charges linked to a string of theft from vehicles in Regina’s downtown around the General Hospital.

The Regina Police Service says the incidents date back to early July. In many of the incidents, the front passenger side window of the car was smashed and property stolen.

Police say some of the items were re-sold at pawn shops with the suspects posing as the owners of the items.

On October 24th, a search warrant was done at a home on the 1300 block of Victoria Avenue where officers found some items that matched those reported stolen.

RPS says the two are alleged to have been involved in at least a dozen criminal events including break, enter and theft, theft from auto, possession of stolen property and trafficking in stolen property. The investigation is ongoing.

Thirty-one-year-old Torie Bellegarde and 35-year-old Kerry Shannon face a combined 23 charges including fraud under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime and trafficking in property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Both accused will appear in court on December 12th.
