He may not be 100 percent, and he still hasn’t officially been given the designation as the starter by Head Coach Craig Dickenson, but quarterback Cody Fajardo is listed on the team’s depth chart as their quarterback for Sunday’s Western Final against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Mosaic Stadium.
“I don’t know if he will start, but he’ll be dressed as one of our three quarterbacks and he will play,” Dickenson told reporters after Friday’s practice at Mosaic Stadium. Fajardo was not made available for questions, but is expected to on Saturday afternoon as both teams meet the media in advance of Sunday’s game in which the Riders will look to win to go to the Grey Cup for the first time since 2013 when they won at Taylor Field beating Hamilton.
Despite being bothered by a bad toe and having limited practice time this week, Shaq Evans is also ready to go. Derrick Moncrief returns to the lineup after missing the last regular-season game of the year against Edmonton as well.
Another move of interest sees Kenny Stafford going onto the active roster with Jordan Williams-Lambert being taken off.
