YWCA Regina celebrated Wednesday morning as it opened it’s new Centre for Play and Development.
This centre will host a before and after program and will soon have evening and weekend programming.
YWCA’s Tara Molson says the building also houses two child care centres, expanding the number of spaces to 141. “One existing YWCA child care centre called Deanna’s Den, that’s a 90 space childcare centre, as well as a new 51 space centre called Sally’s Place.”
Molson says there is also some extra space in the facility. “So we also have a before and after school program for school aged kids in the area. We are also hoping to run some other programming, maybe some cooking classes, babysitters courses, home alone courses for school aged kids.”
She says this is very exciting for the organization. “This has been a long time coming so we are really, really happy and look forward to the bright future this centre will bring.”
There are still some spaces available at the Second Avenue North location. Molson says you can call the Centre for Play and Development to register.
