Moose Jaw Police arrest man after string of break and enters, assaults

Police in Moose Jaw have arrested a 22-year-old man after a couple break and enters and assaults in the city early Saturday morning.

Officers responded to a call just after 12:30 a.m. in the VLA area where a break and enter was in progress.

The suspect assaulted an individual inside a residence in the neighbourhood and fled from the scene. He later returned to the residence, but the home owner forced him out as police arrived.

Fleeing from the house on foot, the suspect broke into another house to hide out from officers before he was confronted by the home owner. After a physical altercation, the accused left the residence.

Moose Jaw Police say both victims were not seriously injured in these incidents.

A canine unit managed to track the victim down after investigating a number of yards in the area.

22-year-old Victor Mosquera of Hepburn was charged with two counts of break and enter, two counts of assault and a breach of probation.

He is set to make his first appearance in provincial court on Monday.
