Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland will sit down with Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe in Regina on Tuesday.
Justin Trudeau’s newly appointed deputy, who is also his new intergovernmental affairs minister, is touring western Canada looking to find some common ground to repair an admitted broken western relationship with the Trudeau government after they were completely shutout from Saskatchewan and Alberta in the recent federal election.
The premier has a “positive working relationship” with Freeland and is looking forward to discussing issues facing Saskatchewan and western Canada.
Freeland met with Alberta Premier Jason Kenney and Edmonton Mayor Don Iveson on Monday.
Regina Mayor Michael Fougere will also speak with Freeland on Tuesday.
More to come.
