Alpacas are on display and in the show ring at Canadian Western Agribition in Regina this week.
Robin Nasemann of Germany was the judge in the Alpaca show.
He says the animals are judged on their soundness and the quality of the fleece.
He is looking for finer, thin soft hair in the fleece to be woven into warm clothing.
The alpaca wool is used for scarves, socks, gloves and other clothing.
Nasemann says Alpacas come in 22 natural colors and the 100 fleeces at the show in Regina had impressive quality.
He says the wool can sell as high as 100 dollars per kilogram.
