The Transportation Safety Board of Canada says seven people died in a small plane crash Wednesday night.

The plane was heading from the Toronto area to the airport in Kingston when it crashed in a wooded area a few kilometres from landing.

The plane was a six-seater with one pilot.

The TSB is looking at if weather was a possible factor in the crash.

A team of four investigators has begun a probe that could take days to complete.
