Regina City Hall celebrates 19th annual Light the Lights event

“Seasons Greetings” can be seen lit up on Regina’s City Hall for the rest of the holiday season.

Regina’s City Hall is back in the Christmas spirit.

The 19th annual Light the Lights event drew many to downtown Tuesday night.

Before the main event, many took part in the free wagon rides while also enjoying entertainment from the Carlo Petrovitch Trio, Douglas Park and Jack Mackenzie
elementary school choirs, Christmas carol duo Myla & Georgia, and the Regina Highland
Dancers.

At about 6:30 p.m. Mayor Michael Fougere started the countdown before the lights high above downtown Regina lit up.

Nine-year-old Jackson said seeing lights always reminds him Christmas is upon us.

“It’s reminds me that Christmas time is here and I get to sped it with friends and family and enjoy holidays until the new year,” he said.

Many adults also find the annual night a highlight of the holiday season, for Brandy it was also a way to bring back her Christmas spirit.

“I’ve been in a bit of a Christmas funk since losing my grandmother ten years ago on Christmas day, so I’m hoping this will bring back that Christmas spirit for me a little bit.

Before the night was over Santa Clause also stopped in for a visit and view of the lights.

City Hall will be lit up every night for the rest of the holiday season.
