A part-owner of the Regina Pats could be the new owner of the vacant lot at 1971 Albert Street, that used to be the Capital Pointe site.
Anthony Marquart is the president of Royalty Developments Limited.
The company has a conditional deal to purchase the controversial piece of land that has been a headache for the city for over a decade at a price-tag of just over $2.2-million, along with part of or all of the outstanding property taxes.
It is not known what plans Marquart would have for the site if the sale goes through.
On December 12, the application to buy the property will be heard by Court of Queen’s Bench.
