Four in Regina facing over 100 property and identity charges

The Regina Police Service says two men and two women face over 100 property and identity charges.

This is part of an investigation extending from September 16th to early December and includes committing fraud, falsifying identity documents, tampering with vehicle identification numbers and trafficking stolen property.

The investigation started with a vehicle fraudulently purchased from a dealer in Saskatoon and brought to Regina. RPS says that investigation ended with the arrest of a 34-year-old man and 39-year-old woman on October 23rd.

Continued investigation, which included multiple search warrants, lead police to tampered VINs. Police say as the investigation progressed, officers found multiple documents containing evidence of additional fraudulent transactions involving other vehicles, identity theft and identity fraud. Two other suspects were identified and taken into custody on November 28th and December 7th. Officers add that the 34-year-old man charged in October was re-arrested December 9th.

One of the vehicles was found in Montana with RPS saying in all there were five vehicles and trailers recovered, as well as another vehicle seized as offence-related property.

Thirty-four-year-old Ryan Wahoski faces 43 charges including 11 counts of possession of a forged document with intent to commit an offence, six counts of identity theft and three counts of tampering with VINs. His most recent court date was December 10th.

Police say 42-year-old Jennifer Slinn faces 29 charges including nine counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, six counts of identity fraud/possession of an identity document and three counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. Slinn was last in court on December 2nd.

Fourty-eight-year-old Eric Baker is facing 23 charges including seven counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, six counts of identity fraud/possession of an identity document and three counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.  He was in court on December 9th.

39-year-old Jill Martin-Raina faces six charges including two counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, two counts of identity fraud/possession of an identity document and trafficking in property obtained by crime over $5,000. She was last in court on October 24th.
