Saturday afternoon we were all packed up. Food and gifts were in the vehicle. All we had to do was pick up our granddaughters and we’d be on our way to our annual family Christmas get together in Craven.
Then it happened. My wife and I got about 4 blocks from our home that afternoon when the heater in my vehicle suddenly stopped working. Nothing. Nada. Uh oh. I certainly couldn’t hit the highway without heat in the vehicle. So, we made our way back home where we transferred everything we had packed up in my vehicle to my wife’s vehicle.
Seeing as it was Saturday afternoon, there was no way I’d be able to get my heater fixed until Monday, at the earliest. The problem was, I had to drive down to the station for the MS Musical Christmas Card on Sunday morning and then in to work this morning with no heat. That didn’t sound like a lot of fun.
This morning I made my way in to work with the drivers side window slightly open wearing some winter accessories I never wear…a toque and a pair of gloves. That first cup of coffee at work never tasted better!
So, this morning after work it’s off to get my heater fixed.
Hey, it could have been worse. This could have happened last week when the temperature was around minus 35 with the windchill!
