A Blanding’s turtle, polar bear or bald eagle, maybe even a landscape like the Great Lakes, are among the items you can symbolically adopt through Nature Conservancy Canada (NCC).

Andrew Holland with NCC says they have actually offered the program for 25 years. He points out they were giving “green” before it was in vogue.

Holland says it’s a gift for the nature lover, the outdoor enthusiast or the hard-to-buy-for.

Charitable tax receipts are issued for the buyer and the recipient will get a full-colour certificate, a 2020 NCC wall calendar and a booklet about what has been symbolically adopted.
