A dominant display from the Regina Pats saw them shutout the Moose Jaw Warriors 5-0 Saturday night at the Brandt Centre.
Scoreless after the first period, the Pats found the back of the net nearly 13 minutes into the second after Carson Denomie snapped a power play goal past Moose Jaw’s Adam Evanoff.
The teams remained separated by one goal at the start of the third, but that’s when the Pats turned it up.
Defenceman Zach Wytinck scored on a wraparound goal nearly a minute and a half into the frame to put the Pats up by two.
Logan Nijhoff, Ty Kolle and Ryker Evans stuffed the net later on to give the home fans a win over their rivals.
First star of the game Max Paddock picked up his second shutout of the season by making 30 saves on the night.
“Overall, it was probably our best 60-minute game this season,” admitted Logan Nijhoff on the Pats post-game show on 620 CKRM.
“It feels really good to come back from the break to have two games like that right off the bat.”
Nijhoff, along with Wytinck, Evans and Austin Pratt, each had two points in the victory.
Regina outscored the Warriors 10-2 between their two games this weekend.
The Pats close out the 2019 portion of their season on Monday with a visit to the Brandon Wheat Kings.
