Pats make it interesting, but still fall to Tri-City 5-4

It wasn’t a good first 40 minutes for the Regina Pats Saturday night in Kennewick, Washington.

Tri-City opened the game with two goals in the first and second frames, digging the Pats into a 4-0 hole after two periods of play.

But, the Pats started to battle back in the third. Drew Englot had a pair of goals, Riley Krane and Nikita Sedov also chipped in with goals, all in the third period.

However, Connor Bouchard got the eventual game-winner for the Americans on a short-handed goal at 11:25 into the third, sealing a 5-4 win for the hosts.

Donovan Buskey made 35 saves in the loss for the Pats, who out-shot the Americans 41-40.

The Pats’ U.S. road trip continues Sunday night with a visit with the Everett Silvertips. Puck drop is 6:00 Saskatchewan time. 620 CKRM has the game live from Angel of the Winds Arena starting with the pregame show at 5:35
