The lights were out in downtown Regina for a short period on Thursday morning.

Much of the downtown area along with the University of Regina, the General Hospital and areas like Lakeview and Cathedral.

Saskpower’s Joel Cherry says the cause of the outage was a trip at the sub-station located by the Saskatchewan Science Centre.

Cherry was hoping full power would be restored to all areas by 12:30
