Extreme cold warnings issued for southern Sask.

Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning for the southern half of the province.

The weather agency says light to moderate northwesterly winds combined with temperatures in the low minus twenties will produce windchill values of -40 or lower overnight into Saturday morning.

Windchill values will moderate during the day on Saturday but will likely return to warning values, over a number of regions, Saturday night into Sunday morning.
