The Saskatchewan Stock Growers Association has set up a charitable foundation.
General manager Chad MacPherson said the Stock Growers Foundation has several key goals, including to conserve farmland.
“This new foundation has four different unique objectives,” MacPherson said. “Those are to conserve agricultural lands, relieve poverty, help in disaster situations and to help young producers in education,” he said.
MacPherson also said creation of the charitable group enables the Stock Growers to apply to other foundations for support for land conservation and other goals like disaster relief.
