Regina man charged with attempted murder following October incident

A 23-year-old man from Regina made his first court appearance on Thursday morning on a charge of attempted murder.

Michael Mezaros was arrested on Wednesday by Regina police after an incident on October 10 at the Glen Elm Trailer Court located in the city’s east end.

Meszaros fired a gun at a 17-year-old boy who suffered a gunshot wound to his leg that night. He was taken to hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

Police also located a woman, two young children and four teenagers in the residence during the shooting. They were safely transported away from the home has the forensics team began their investigation.

Evidence gathered during the investigation led police to his arrest.

Mezaros is also charged in an alleged forcible confinement and assault on a 27-year-old man which also occurred last October.
