Two-time All Star Ed Gainey is back for the 2020 season.

Gainey signed a one-year extension on Thursday, meaning all five starters in last season’s defensive backfield are returning.

Gainey played all 19 games in 2019. He grabbing two interceptions and was tied for second on the team with six passes defensed.

The 29 year old was an All Star in 2017 and 2018. He’s missed only one game in his four years in green.

Gainey’s signing leaves the Riders with 17 free agents. Free agents are free to sign with any team as of 11:00 am on Tuesday, Feb. 11.
