An attempted traffic stop early Wednesday morning has resulted in multiple weapons charges for 35-year-old Tony Thompson of Regina.
At around 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday, patrol officers stopped a vehicle on the 600 block of Athol Street before the vehicle fled from police.
It was later located by officers on the 1300 block of Pasqua Street. Police saw Thompson and two women walking away from the vehicle and made the arrests.
Police conducted a vehicle search where they discovered a bag containing a firearm along with multiple rounds of ammunition. Members also found bear spray on Thompson.
He was taken to custody while the two women were questioned and released.
Thompson faced his charges in provincial court Wednesday morning in Regina. They include possession of a firearm and carrying a concealed weapon.
