Today is the second anniversary of the acquittal of a Saskatchewan farmer who shot and killed a young Indigenous man in 2016.
Indigenous law students are organizing demonstrations as part of a day of action in honour of 22-year-old Colten Boushie.
Organizer Andre Bear says the 2018 acquittal of Gerald Stanley inspired him to enter law school, and he wants both law students and legal professionals take part in conversations about racial injustices.
Stanley testified he was trying to scare Boushie and his friends away from his property when his gun went off accidentally, killing Boushie.
