Farmers are being encouraged to reach out to consumers on Tuesday, for Canada’s Agriculture day.

Farm Credit Canada is one of the driving forces behind Ag Day.

FCC spokesman Marty Seymour said farmers should tell consumers about the healthy, safe aspects of locally-produced food.

Seymour encourages consumers to snap a picture of raising their fork to Canadian agriculture and sharing it on social media.

FCC will ring the opening bell at the Toronto Stock Exchange Tuesday, to begin trading and kick off Canada’s Agriculture Day.
