Regina Police and EMS attend several drug overdoses over the weekend

Regina Police are investigating a large number of drug overdoses that took place over the weekend.

Between 1:30 Friday afternoon and 5:30 Sunday evening, police responded to 14 drug overdose incidents, with three of those requiring RPS to administer Naloxone. No fatalities were reported as a result.

Police believe fentanyl may be the source of the overdoses. While RPS attended several instances over the weekend, EMS responded to several other drug incidents as well.

Police are advising the public not to take chances with their health, and that the purchase of drugs from a dealer is not only illegal in most cases, but can result in unknown quality control, additives and dangerous risks.

if anyone has information on these incidents, they are asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
