Prince Albert RCMP arrest three people on Sturgeon Lake First Nation for weapons offences

Prince Albert RCMP have charged three people in connection to a weapons related incident on the Sturgeon lake First Nation, which is about 50 kilometres northwest of Prince Albert.

RCMP executed a search warrant back on February 12, which resulted in the seizure of several firearms, including a sawed-off shotgun and a spear-gun. RCMP also seized an unknown quantity of hydromorphone.

As a result, 24 year-old Shania Yooya, 27 year-old Brennan Sanderson, and 29 year-old Shannon Sanderson are facing a joint total of six charges, including unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possession of a weapon obtained by crime.

Yooya will appear in court on Thursday while Brennan and Shannon Sanderson will both appear in court March 18.
