Pats drop close Family Day affair with Brandon

The Regina Pats dropped a close 2-1 game at home to the Brandon Wheat Kings Monday afternoon.

Pats Assistant Coach Brad Herauf said they played well in a playoff type game.

“Yeah it was a playoff style game and I thought we played really well without the puck, we didn’t give them much but we lacked some execution with the puck tonight,” Herauf said. “Unfortunately we stalled to much in the neutral zone and weren’t getting pucks behind them and that gave them to much momentum,” he added.

Drew Englot scored the Pats only goal, which came with 2:41 left in regulation, Englot now leads all Pats rookies in scoring with 16 points.

The Pats (19-29-3-2) will head to Prince Albert on Tuesday to face Max Paddock and a Raiders team (30-16-5-4) they’re 2-3 against this season.
