Kerri Einarson’s Manitoba rink defeated her provincial rival Jennifer Jones in the 1-2 page playoff game Saturday night in Moose Jaw 6-4.

After a blank in the first end, Einarson forced Jones to a single in the second, giving the Wild card team a single point.

Jones proceeded to fill the house with rocks in the third end, but several hits allowed Einarson to throw a blank end. That led to Einarson scoring a single in the fourth end after two incredible hits from Jones’ third Kaitlyn Lawes.

Einarson’s rink didn’t let up, forcing another single from Jones in the fifth. That gave Einarson the hammer to start the sixth end down 2-1.

Einarson’s rink proceeded to set up a deuce, which was scored after an incredible hit with Einarson’s last shot.

Jones responded with a single in the seventh end after Einarson’s team continued to keep the pressure on. That pressure didn’t stop in the eighth end, as a terrific line call on Einarson’s last shot gave Manitoba two points and a 5-3 lead.

The teams traded singles in the ninth and tenth ends, giving Einarson the 6-4 win.

Einarson now awaits the winner of the semi-final between Jones and Ontario’s Rachel Homan, who downed Northern Ontario’s Krista McCarville 9-5 in the 3-4 game Saturday afternoon.
