Regina man arrested after camera found in restaurant bathroom

A 42-year-old Regina man faces charges after allegedly placing two cameras inside the women’s washroom at a business in the city’s northwest end

Regina police say they started investigating January 20th after getting a report of a camera being found in the washroom of the Tim Hortons located on the 5800 block of Rochdale Boulevard. The camera was put in a spot where it could record people using the washroom and was hidden in a spot where it wouldn’t be discovered easily by staff or customers.

On February 3, a second report of a camera at the same location was used.

Police say they have already identified some of the victims, but they believe there are others ranging from youth to seniors who did not know they were being filmed.

With the business being located near two high schools. police say the school resource section is assisting in the investigation.

Aaron Wheeler has been released on a recognizance and will make his first court appearance on March 18.

Police say Wheeler was not an employee of the restaurant and had no connection to it.
