Regina City Council to explore options for Co-op refinery labour dispute resolution

It could be a busy afternoon and evening inside Henry Baker hall, as Regina City Council convenes for their monthly meeting Wednesday at 1:30 PM.

Councillor Andrew Stevens is introducing a notice of motion that will explore council’s options when it comes to the Co-op refinery labour dispute and what they can do to solve the matter.

Stevens says council unintentionally got involved when they approved Federated Co-op’s request to build a labour camp on the refinery grounds, so they should also explore what they can do to end the dispute.

Also on the agenda includes a call to the Provincial Capital Commission to publish a detailed consultation plan regarding the Brandt/CNIB building in Wascana Park, and a request to approve close to 900 thousand dollars in additional funding for Maple leaf Pool.
