While Saskatchewan voters aren’t supposed to go to the polls until October, talk continues to swirl that Premier Scott Moe will call an early election with it happening some time this spring.
Moe remains non-committal on the issue.
“We continue to plan for October 26.” Moe said Friday during a stop in Estevan, “But as I said, the premier has the prerogative to go early, and I’m going to reserve that opportunity.”
NDP leader Ryan Meili says he is getting information that a spring election will be happening which is something he is fine with.
“It’s never too early for us to get rid of the Saskatchewan Party.” Meili said. “They’ve shown us all of the ways they are unfit for the job. Scott Moe has shown us he’s unfit for this job. It’s time for us to make that change.”
The comments from both come as the spring sitting of the Legislature is about to begin. A 10-week session, which will be highlighted by a provincial budget on March 18, begins Monday.
