Pats get shut out in Medicine Hat

The Pats lost their second straight game to the Medicine Hat Tigers 2-0 on Saturday night.

In the first period, the Pats were outshot by the Tigers 15-9, and Pats netminder Donovan Buskey was fantastic. The 19-year-old made huge saves in the frame when the Tigers have a 5 on 3 power play late in the period, making it scoreless after one.

Buskey continued to shine in net in the second, making 17 saves in the period. Despite Buskey’s brilliance, the Tigers found the back of the net late in the frame when Lukas Sveikovsky scored.

The Tigers went up 2-0 early in the third on a goal from Corson Hopwo and didn’t look back from there. The Pats put up nine shots in the frame but couldn’t capitalize on any chances resulting in a 2-0 final score.

The Pats were outshot heavily 42-18, they went 0 for 1 on the powerplay.

Donavan Buskey made an outstanding 40 saves in the loss.

The Pats are back at again on home ice Tuesday, when they host the Moose Jaw Warriors starting at 7:00 at the Brandt Centre.
