2020 Grey Cup festival getting $3 million from Tourism Saskatchewan

A big boost for the 2020 Grey Cup festival has been announced.

Tourism Saskatchewan says it will be providing $3 million in support for the festival which will run November 17-22 at Evraz Place in Regina

When Regina last hosted Grey Cup celebrations in 2013, the event had an economic impact of $93 million.  It is expected a similar return will happen from the 2020 Grey Cup Festival.

Sponsorship of the event comes from Tourism Saskatchewan’s Event Hosting Program, which assists the province in hosting national and international events and initiating special tourism projects. The 2020 Grey Cup Festival is one of several major events Saskatchewan is proud to host in 2020-2021. These include the Scotties Tournament of Hearts, recently held in Moose Jaw; the JUNO Awards in Saskatoon later this month; and the 2021 Canadian Curling Trials Roar of the Rings, also in Saskatoon.
