Fire breaks out at Nutrien’s Vanscoy mine

A chemical fire broke out at the Nutrien Potash Mine in Vanscoy.

A spokesperson for Nutrien said that the fire happened in the load-out area at around 10 pm Saturday night.

There were no injuries reported, and all workers are safe and accounted.

Nutrien says they are working with first responders and their teams to try and manage the incident.

According to the Saskatoon Fire Department, the fire involved three above-ground storage tanks.

There are no details as to what may have caused the fire or the damage caused.
