The Regina Police Service shared on Monday afternoon that they are aware of four deaths from drug overdoses and 92 overdoses in total in the city since the start of the year.

Three other fatalities are still under investigation. Police have responded to 54 overdoses and have used Naloxone for 18 of them.

The most recent death happened on Sunday when a 21-year-old man from Regina passed away from a drug overdose.

Regina Police are continuing to urge the public to be aware of the threats presented by street drugs such as fentanyl.

People should also know the Good Samaritan Drug Overdose Act protects those experiencing and overdose or those with someone experiencing a drug overdose from charges for possession of a controlled substance.

The public can also access Naloxone kits if they are concerned about experiencing or witnessing a drug overdose by visiting the Government of Saskatchewan’s website.
