Regina grocery store opening earlier to accomodate seniors

Some seniors have said they are afraid to go grocery-shopping since Reginans started to go to places to stock up because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Some stores across Canada have started opening one hour earlier to accomodate seniors and now a Regina grocery store is doing the same thing.

Starting Wednesday morning, Tom’s Independent Grocers in the Normanview Mall will open at 7 a.m so seniors can come in and get what they need stress-free.

Manager Tom Robins says regular store hours will begin at 8 a.m with this happening every day for the foreseeable future with his staff ready to greet them with open arms as they get what is needed during this pandemic.

Sobeys has also announced they will be doing the same thing with Sherwood Co-Op Food Stores doing it on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8-9 a.m.
