Four new COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan including head of Saskatchewan Medical Association

20 people in Saskatchewan now have the COVID-19 virus.

The ministry of health is confirming four new presumptive positive cases bringing that number to 12 with eight cases being confirmed.

Three of the four new cases are related to travel and one is a close contact of a previous reported case. All are self-isolating at home.

One of the four is the president of the Saskatchewan Medical Association. Dr. Allan Woo of Saskatoon says he believes he contracted the virus after being at a bonspiel in Edmonton for physicians.

In a letter written by Woo, he says he has been in self-isolation since Tuesday and that this is a reminder that doctors are not invincible.

The ministry of health says 2,561 people in Saskatchewan have been tested for COVID-19.
