Regina police arrest man throwing hammer at vehicle

A Regina man was taken into custody by police after launching a hammer at a vehicle on Saturday evening in Regina.

Regina police were called out to a business on the 2200 block of Victoria Avenue East at around 7:30 p.m. for a report of a weapons offence.

Officers found a man was throwing a hammer and causing damage to the vehicle. They also learned that he had charged at another man with the hammer.

29-year-old Steven Hepper was arrested and charged for assault with a weapon, mischief and failure to comply with a probation order.

Hepper was released on an undertaking and won’t appear in court until the morning of June 1.
