Man dies in Goodeve house fire: Melville RCMP

Melville RCMP have confirmed a man passed away in a house fire on Monday afternoon in the village of Goodeve, Saskatchewan.

RCMP from Melville and Ituna detachments, along with the Melville Fire Department, responded to the call at 2:00 p.m. on 3rd Avenue in Goodeve.

When emergency crews arrived, the home was completely engulfed by flames. RCMP say entry into the residence was “not possible due to the intensity of the flames.”

Responders found one adult man was deceased within the residence after extinguishing the fire. The coroners service is now working to determine the man’s identity.

The provincial fire commissioner is investigating the cause of the blaze. However police say it is not considered suspicious at this time.

Goodeve is about 30 kilometres northwest from Melville.
