National Lacrosse League cancels remainder of regular season

They are not cancelling the season altogether, but the National Lacrosse League will not play the remainder of its regular season due to COVID-19.

In a release from the league on Wednesday, they say the league will continue to look at possible scenarios in which return-to-play is determined to be both safe and “beneficial for all involved” once all stakeholders and health officials deem that possible, but “there is no timeline on when decisions will be made.

In that release, Commissioner Nick Sakiewicz adds the league’s goal is to find the best, and safest, solution for resumption of play, but what that looks like, and when that occurs, cannot be determined today.

With three games to play in the regular season, the Saskatchewan Rush had a record of 7-3, good for first in the West Division.
