Ryker Evans is hoping he will hear his name called at the NHL Entry Draft later this year. On Wednesday when NHL Central Scouting released its final rankings, Evans was on the list as the 178th ranked North American skater meaning he could be a late round selection.
The Calgary product had a career season as he had seven goals and 31 points in 63 games. He was rewarded for that by being named as the club’s best defenceman.
Evans was drafted by the Pats in the 10th round of the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft, he has appeared in 108 WHL games, scoring eight goals and 42 points in his career.
Pats prospect Ty Smilanic was among those ranked as well, coming in at 24 in North America. Fellow prospect Danil Guschin is the 41st ranked player in North America.
