Regina Chamber happy with government support for small businesses

The Regina and District Chamber of Commerce applauds the Saskatchewan government for introducing the Saskatchewan Small Business Emergency Payment.
CEO John Hopkins says he’s pleased with the decision that will help a number of businesses in the community.
“When we’ve surveyed our members and talked to members, one of the biggest issues that’s out there has been cash flow, and not having the cash flow to pay things like rent or leases,” said Hopkins. “We’re also very happy that they’ll be able to access it quickly.”
The Regina Chamber shared in a release that they realize the payment will not solve all the problems businesses are facing at this time, but they believe it is a step in the right direction that will help some companies keep the doors open.
He says it’s important to keep these supports active moving forward.
“As we try to work our way through this, I don’t think it’s over yet,” said Hopkins. “We will continue to need to work together to try and get through this as quickly as we can. Of course the most important thing is health and safety of people.”
