Deadline for Sask farmers to apply for agristability support extended to July

The deadline for Saskatchewan farmers to apply for the agristability support plan has been extended to July 3rd from April 30th.

Agriculture minister David Marit says the extension will give farmers more time to consider the business risk support program, during market disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Farm groups are asking for improvements to the plan and Marit says several options are under consideration.

Marit says some provinces may find it difficult to enhance agristability because of economic problems caused by the COVID-19 outbreak.
